Ode to my Dad

Dad. . .
Your the loyal BYU fan, and I the UTE, . Your always trying to hide chocolate from me in several hiding places throughout your house. . . all of which I know. And when I find them I make sure to take a bite of each chocolate and put them carefully back for you to notice that I found them. When I wreck my car in SLC, you are the one I call. You come promptly from Provo with your 4-runner and tow rope, which doesn't work. At EVERY intersection, the rope comes off and I vigorously honk my horn to get your attention. With more cars honking behind me, you jump out of your car and put it back, much to my amusement. . When I encourage my siblings, aka Jonathan and Adrienne, to join with me in teasing you. . you patiently roll your eyes and try desperately to ignore our goading remarks. When I have a gospel doctrine question at 11:00 at night and decide it can't wait until tomorrow, you answer your phone. even though my first question is an enthusiastic, "what are you doing?" you calmly explain that you were trying to sleep and ask me what I need. And even though I have mastered the ability to "sweet talk" myself out of anything, having you tell me you are disappointed in me is the worst kind of punishment. But more than any of these things, you have been my example, my coach, my disciplinarian, my patriarch, my friend, my guide through life, and the greatest of all, my Dad. Thanks, Dad, for everything. I truly feel that I have the best Dad in the world. All the good I am, it is because of you. All of the bad. . . . well. . let's blame that on Nathan. I love you DAD!!!
